A Welcome Reception for Dr. Rachel Miller
April 6, 2017 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Rachel Miller as our new executive director and we invite you to a welcome reception in her honor on April 6, from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Dr. Miller moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1994 from Ramstein, Germany. Her childhood living abroad afforded her the opportunity to explore different cultures, an experience that heavily influences her writing and work in the field of cultural heritage. For over a decade, Miller has managed educational outreach programs for arts and cultural state and city agencies and non-profit organizations. Additionally, she teaches writing and literature for university and non-traditional students. Her writing has appeared in a variety of publications including the Localist magazine, Quills & Pixels,
Encyclopedia of Arkansas History and Culture, and the Pulaski County Historical Review. In 2014, Miller graduated from the Heritage Studies PhD program at Arkansas State University. Her area of research focuses on the connection between community dynamics and cultural diversity and how it is reflected through the use of the built environment.
