MAQUETTE OF KEVIN COLE’S A Tale of Two Blessings: Passion vs Purpose


The showcase piece in the Potpourri 2018 auction is the maquette (or small, preliminary model) of Kevin Cole’s A Tale of Two Blessings: Passion vs Purpose. The full-sized aluminum and mixed-media sculpture was recently installed in ASC’s atrium; it was commissioned for the center’s 50th anniversary.

Potpourri 2018 attendees will have the opportunity to bid during the live auction for this special piece. Retail value is $5,000. The opening bid is $1,500.

Kevin Cole is an internationally renowned artist and Pine Bluff native, and a member of the esteemed AfriCOBRA artist collective. Cole earned a Bachelor of Science degree in art education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1982. He also has a Master of Arts degree in art education from the University of Illinois and a Master of Fine Arts degree in drawing from Northern Illinois University. Cole has spent more than 30 years in art education. He lives in the Atlanta area.

2018 featured artist: john kushmaul

Painter John Kushmaul of Little Rock (and formerly of White Hall) is Potpourri 2018’s featured artist. Kushmaul’s works are on display in the William H.
