About the Instructor

Jennifer Solano

"Ceramic art found me in college. College found me a little later in life. I began to study ceramics in 2017. I found that I really enjoyed sharing this art skill with others and how satisfying teaching art can be. I graduated from Henderson State University as an art educator last fall. I currently teach middle school art in the White Hall School District.

I fell in love with ceramics because of the many facets such as slab/coil build, carving, sculpture and wheel throwing. This media really makes you slow down and observe. Throwing a clay pot requires your full attention and then makes you aware of your actions. I also love the experimental side of clay. I constantly ask myself, what will happen if I do this based on my previous findings?"
